About this event

Speakers include:

• Martin Kiernan

Martin has worked in the field of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for 25 years. He has Masters Degrees in both Public Health and Clinical Research. He is also a visiting Clinical Fellow at the Richard Wells Research Centre, University of West London. Martin is involved with many government initiatives, IPC groups and advisory boards including the Department of Health (England) Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-associated Infection (ARHAI) and is a past president of the UK Infection Prevention Society.

• Dr Jocelyne Basseal

Jocelyne is a graduate from the University of Sydney with a Doctorate in Microbiology and joined the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) in 2012 as the journal Managing Editor, Research Grants and Policy Manager.

She was integral in the development of the joint ACIPC / ASUM “Guidelines for Reprocessing Ultrasound Transducers” and continues to actively research and publish in issues relating to infection prevention in ultrasound. Jocelyne is the Vice President for the Australasian Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and a committee member for the Education and Standards Committee for the International Society for Managing Technical Editors (ISMTE). She has recently joined the AS/NZS4187 technical committee HE-023 (Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices in Health Service Organisations) for Standards Australia.
